What are the steps to have an EFT experience?
There are 3 steps:
1) Tune into the specific emotional, physical or mental issue:
(the disruption).
2) Repeat a Set-Up Affirmation that helps focus the mind.
2) Follow a simple tapping routine using their fingertips.
(See diagram below).

What is Energy Psychology:
EFT is one version of a class of self help tools under the title of Energy Psychology. EFT was developed by Gary Craig and is simple, straight-forward, and easy to learn.
In the United States back in the 1960s, Dr. George Goodheart, a chiropractor, developed the field of applied kinesiology which included percussion (tapping) on acupuncture points. In the 1980s, a psychiatrist, Dr. John Diamond, and a psychologist, Roger Callahan, Ph.D., applied Dr. Goodheart's procedures to psychological issues. Their work lead to the development of the field now called "Energy Psychology." This new field has several tools that can be easily self applied for stress managment.
In 1997 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health endorsed acupuncture for the treatment of nausea and dental pain. They also said that there was evidence that acupuncture may be effective for addiction, stroke, rehabilitation, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma.
EFT is a new psychological process based on the principles of acupuncture and acupressure. It can be thought of as acupressure for negative emotional issues, or as Gary Craig, the inventor of EFT states..
"EFT is an emotional version of acupuncture except we don't use needles. Instead, EFT is a self help process that works to stimulate well established meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips while focusing in on an issue. EFT often works when everything else has failed."
EFT is never intended to replace medical consults or treatments. EFT is available as a means to learn about how our negative emotions and unpleasant memories effect our health and what we can do about it.
UNDERSTANDING SUBTLE ENERGY MODELS:
To better understand the bodies energy systen, the photos below depict the two major forms of subtle energies. The top photo is representation of the seven chakras or energy vortexes based on traditiional Reiki, and the bottom photo is the meridian outline employed in EFT tapping points of the meridian system used in acupuncture, each illustrating the flow of electrical waves running through the suttle bodies.
It is becoming more acceptable to the mainstream that people are able to learn methods of creating positive effects on these subtle forms of energy, and in so doing, experience results in the quality of their life.
